If you run out of space on the first page, you can add a page to your post.

Scroll to Lesson 6 on Embarc Online to find the video lesson assigned for the day. Watch the video to complete the assigned work.

Complete the story problem on page 169 in your math journal. Take a close picture of your solution and upload it to Seesaw.

Then do page 171-172. Take a picture of page 172 and upload it to Seesaw. Make sure your work can be clearly read before you submit it. DO NOT TEAR OUT YOUR PAGES. YOU WILL BE TURNING THEM IN AFTER YOU COME BACK TO SCHOOL 

You can also go to Xtra Math, Exact Path Math, or Zearn!

 

Reading and Writing: 

Go to Activities in Seesaw and Listen to The Lesson with Hope King Video. She will be teaching you about similes and learning about how to stay positive.

You will be creating a secret identity and writing sentences with similies to describe your identity when you are done!

Simile sentences and a picture of your secret identity need to be shared on Seesaw!

 

***Don't forget that should always be reading for about 20-30 minutes choosing a book of your choice every day! If you are not connected to Epic at home, have your parents ask me to send you another email to connect. It's free until the end of the school year at home! Yay!

Another choice would be to read a chapter book or go on to your new Raz-Kids account and read a book on the bookshelf. Happy Reading!

Reading and Writing: *You will need a pencil, a piece of paper, and crayons.

Go to Activities in Seesaw and Listen to The Panda Problem Video

Then do the Direct Drawing after the book is done. 

After that, create your "Huge Problem Story" using the text tool. Adjective-Describes the noun; Adverb-explains how a verb (action) does something...slowly, quickly, sadly; Synonym-a word that means the same as another word (slow...unhurried) 

When finished, record yourself reading the story on Seesaw and upload your Panda Picture.

Spelling: Go to your Spelling City App or Spelling City. Make sure you are logged in and go to assignments. The list you will be studying this week is aw/au. There will be no challenge list this week. The two assignments you will do today are the Teach Me and Sound It Out.

 

Math: Listen to the Toothy Graphing Directions, then go to Seesaw and Activities to find Toothy Graphing. Don't forget to write all your answers on a piece of paper, so you can take a picture and upload it to Seesaw after you are done. 

After that, log into  Zearn and practice math for 20 minutes.

 

Reading: Go to Reading Activities on Scholastic Magazine, Grades 1 and 2

Listen to the first book and read the second book for Day 4; Social Studies/Communities.

Choose some activities to do. You can find the activities on the left of the two books. 

 

Writing: After reading about Communities in the reading assignment, go to Activities in Seesaw and Writing: Farms.Then add organisms to your habitat using emojis. Make sure they make sense for the habitat. There's more than one page. After you are finished adding and labeling animals that are needed, use sentences to explain some facts you read about the farm animals.

 

 Specials-Today is PE...Use the gym activity log to record your activities. If you work with Mrs. Utecht, Mrs. Neitzke, or Mrs. Cabell, they will also post assignments in Activities for you too.

Read for 30 minutes on Epic, Raz-Kids, or a paper book! Upload a picture of your book and share three sentences explaining what the book was about...characters, setting, problem, solution, or if you're reading nonfiction, what is author teaching you, and what are three facts about your topic?

Assignment for Seesaw: Do the Invent a Spider and write about your spider, explaining how it looks and interesting facts you learned about spiders. Remember your paragraph needs to have a topic sentence, three detailed sentences, and a closing sentence.

You can use the text tool to write your paragraph and the drawing tool for the picture, or use paper and pencil and take a picture to upload it to Seesaw. I need to be able to read your writing though.

Overview...

 

Dear Families,

We will be using Seesaw as a way for our students to share their completed work and show attendance for each day.

 

Reading/Writing: We will be using scholastic magazine. This is an online resource that has books available to the kids to read, listen to, and also has a writing component added to it. The link to the website is:

The username and password are at the top of the page when you enter the link. If you cannot find it:

Each day has a “do the activity”. This is what needs to be completed and shared on Seesaw in order to document and assess participation.

 

Math: We will be using embarc.online to teach the lessons each day. We are currently on Module 7. The exact lesson for each day will be indicated on Seesaw for you to access.

Students will also be expected to practice their math facts using websites like Xtra Math, Zearn, or Exactpath. You could also use resources at home like flash cards. Students have a username and password list in their binders.

Students will receive a workbook titled “Learn” at the top right. This needs to be completed based on the lesson and returned back to school.
